I Have Submitted My Report on SGF and Acting Chairman of EFCC - AGF






Mr Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, said on Wednesday, he had submitted the report on the probe of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Babachir Lawal, and the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr Ibrahim Magu


The AGF, who disclosed this according to the Punch, said he submitted the report to President Muhammadu Buhari last Friday, adding that the President would take the final decision on the document.


Recall that the President had, on December 18, 2016, directed the AGF to probe all top government officials accused of corruption.
Garba Shehu, the Senior special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, announced the Presidential directive and said any of the government officials found guilty of the allegations levelled against them would not go unpunished


The AGF, had queried the SGF and the acting chairman of EFCC over corrupt allegations leveled against them by the Senate and the DSS.  They were reported to have long replied their queries.


The President had ordered that the AGF to submit the report on Magu through the Vice-President according some report, he (the Vice-President) is expected to add to the recommendation of the AGF on the EFCC acting chairman.


The AGF, on Wednesday refused to comment on his recommendations and the content of the report, it is a presidential report he insisted, Malami's statement was in response to the reports the he recommended that Magu steps aside while clearing Lawal of the allegations levelled against him

Breaking: Senate Rejects "The Ban on Importations of Cars Through Land Border"


















The Nigerian senators today called for the reversal of the Government's policy of banning importation of cars through land borders.

Recall the the ban took effect January 1, 2017

According to the senate, the ban will lead to a loss of 500,000 jobs as reported by the Punch.

The lawmakers described the ban as anti-poor while criticizing the policy during the plenary today.
The motion titled, "the Ban on Importation of Vehicles Through the Land Borders into the Country", was jointly moved by Senators Barau Jibrin(Kano North), Shehu Sani(Kaduna Central), Kabiru Gaya(Kano South), Sabi Abdullahi(Niger North) and Ali Wakaili(Bauchi South). 

The lawmakers unanimously rejected the policy, while asking Nigeria Customs Service to immediately suspend implementation of the policy

Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, the deputy senate president, who presided over the plenary, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to the cries of Nigerians and reverse the policy.

In his word "From the contributions made, it is obvious that the policy is unpopular. We are representatives of the people and the people have spoken through us that they do not want this policy. I think those in Government should listen to them."

The Senate also directed its committee  on Customs and Excise to investigate what actually led to the Federal Government sudden decision to the ban
